barely

i think you barely made it into the deadline man, either way heres the review

it does sound rushed, it really lacks depth, intricacy, and does sound a bit half-assed

those horns are pretty good sounding though

my big gripe is with the drums, they just lack any feel to them, no pop in any of it :/

awww that ending wasnt very good man, its faaaar to abrupt, so much could have followed it, im thinkin a soft piano part

i think it could be much better, which is unfortunate, your def. a good contender for the deathmatch

let me know if you add on to this man :)

mind checkin out my submission for round 2?

4/5 7/10

peace out

FairSquare responds:

Yeah, i submitted about 20 mins before the deadline :p
I changed a lot of things just now. But i don't know if i made it better.. or worse.
Anyway, i'll check your submission out now. Thanks a lot for the review!

im a fan

of IDM, so you hit me in a soft spot musically

what instrument are you using for those resonant-y sweep things, i used the recorder samples sorohanro gave out, and they have a cool effect, but your sound more hollow, in a good way

the pop un that snare is just really nice

the key change is really nice too, about half way through

good job with the man the emotion from it is just great, great piano and strings, probably one of the better IDM tracks ive heard

good luck in the deathmatch

Quarl responds:

I think that pad your talking about is reasons malstrom. It's using a sawtooth wave in osc 1 and a recorder in osc 2 with a bit of distortion. It doesn't sweep channels but the oscillators are set to different channels and the piano pans lightly so I can hear how it sounds like the pad is panning.

Thanks for the review man. <3

im diggin it man

really good track, even with some pretty heavy drums it still really relaxing

the only part im not really feeling it the funky guitar part later on in the track, it took away from the track IMO, but seriously eveything else was great

especially those drums man, good solid drum track you go there

peace out

good luck in the deathmatch

dude

those were some great glitch effects in the intro

the kick is soft, but still good

sidechaining is nice, im not really a fan of doing it myself, but it does sound cool

fucking awesome melody made of voices, great dude, that was somthing i honestly have never heard b4

and now the pleasing stuff is back :)

great track man, you def. get a 5 from me

good luck in the deathmatch

sessilenomad

i fucking suck

i suck at IIDX, but its still really fun

dude this is fucking great , that snare man, that shit is phenomenal

i like the lead line that comes in, very rpg-ish

i love that gated pad that comes up later

god this has really inspired me man, im gona go try and makesomthing like this

mastering was fucking GREAT

amuro is fucking awesome

so was this track, in all ways

Rawrthaas responds:

thanks mang =]

nice dude

dude this shit is just crazy, i might just have to try out renoise, how much easier is breakcore in renoise compared to FL

im not really a fan of the fake intro, it just seems too out of place, it doenst transition well

lol the gabber kicks towards the end make my eyes blink every time they hit...its very odd trying to fight it

im a fan of breakcore, so i like this, although im sure most will not

good track, classic breakcore, just executed poorly : \

poopr1221 responds:

Thanks for the response! About FL Vs Renoise. You should really try it, and then use what's better for you. They both have their pros and cons. I find I can work with drums much easier and quicker in Renoise than in FL, but for melodies, FL's piano roll is still great. One thing I think Renoise has over FL, is every thing is very real time. Like real time reversing samples, real time stretching, real time pitch shifting etc. Without automation and all that. The reversing thing especially. In FL, you have to open up the same sample and switch it to reverse setting, where in Renoise, you use one sample, and the 0B00 or B0 code to reverse in real time, right in the pattern. Just little things like this that make me prefer Renoise more, but yeah. Definitely try the demo (in january though! since 2.5 is coming out soon. I'm already using the beta lol.) and see what you like better. Also, you can use both like I do still. There's no rule that says you have to use only one DAW.

uhh....

that was fucking wierd, i gave this submission a 5, and it says (+1.26), but your score dropped lower than when it started....wtf audio glitch?

well anyways, this song kicked ass, mellow is honestly not accurate to describe the mood it has, fucking happy is all i can say about it

good classic dnb drum kit you got goin there

the intro it odd, when it starts building up, it sounds a bit off, but when the drums kick and and th melody is going, it all sounds really good

i picture a futuristic city, and two people just cruisin around havin a good time

idk who your faceing in the deathmatch, but you have a good bar set for yourself

9/10 5/5

listening...

i like the intro effects, sounds very nice

the bass is ok, i think it needs more bass as far as eqing goes

great vocal stuff, they need more reverb to give them a mroe spacey feel

hmm later on in the track, the kick is barely hearable, mabye pump it up a bit later on in the track

meh, im not really hearing a main melody, and when the gated pad thing your using finally hits new notes, some of the notes exit the key signature, and not in the best way..

im not a fan of that retro sounding break thing afterwards, just didn fit with the track

the cymbals and all that jive are good, they flow very well, good job with that

the ending is aweful though, srry....it jus seems like you just gave up and couldnt think of a suitable ending

pretty good man, i think it could use a bit more to really be great

oh my god

fucking epic is all i have to sya dude

it has such an empowering feel to it, it also has an oriental sound in some parts, mabye thats just me

what vst's are you using? those strings sound amazing

god this got hit hard by zero bombers...

5/5 10/10

great track, ide like to hear it again if you add on to the ending

FairSquare responds:

Wow, thanks man!
Didn't really expect a ten :p
I'm using Edirol and FL
I'll let you know when i changed/extended the ending.
Again, thanks, i really appreciate it :-)

fuck yeah

dude those were some great vocals to start with, def. set the feel of the track

great effects you tweakin right there in the intro

good solid melody thats comin in....great build you got here

dude this is def. one of the better hardstyle tracks ive heard on NG

i wish those kicks were distorted, i now how hard it is to pull that kind of stuff off though

nothing much left to say really

great track dude

peace out
